Something for Everyone by Wendy Doughty, Canadian Evaluation Society Educational Fund

My second favourite event of the year (Christmas takes first place) is quickly approaching. This year’s CESEF (Canadian Evaluation Society Educational FundSilent Auction will be held on Sunday, April 30 starting at 6 pm during the CES 2017 National Conference Opening Reception.

This fun event provides a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, enjoy a beverage (or two), and snacks while listening to the entertainment. For some, the opportunity for healthy competition in a bidding war makes the evening. Evaluators can be quite devious in the strategies they use to be the successful bidder!

The funds raised through the CESEF Silent Auction support scholarships, bursaries and educational opportunities to Canadians wishing to further their knowledge within the field of program evaluation. By participating in the Silent Auction you are helping build capacity within our evaluation community.

Each year I am amazed at the variety of donations we receive from across the country. There is something there for everyone!

Act now! Send an email to me at wdoughty@ualberta.ca. I will send a form to you to gather some basic information in advance.  This helps ensure we have the required details to issue tax receipts. It also helps us run things smoothly. We have only a few hours to set-up for the event.

You can bring your donation(s) with you to the conference and leave it at the registration desk.
